Huawei FreeBuds 4 is a premium wireless earbuds that come with a bunch of features to provide you an immersive audio experience. To keep its performance consistent, the company regularly updates these earbuds with new software updates.

Huawei is rolling out the August 2021 update for FreeBuds 4 wireless earbuds identified with version 1.9.0.218. This firmware comes with an update size of 2.96MB and carries optimizations for an enhanced user experience.

This firmware improves the connection stability in the situation when a user tries to connect two devices simultaneously. Besides, there isn’t any newly added feature or anything else spotted in the changelog.

Huawei FreeBuds 4 August 2021 software update has begun to release for global users and it will gradually cover all the eligible devices in the coming days. Usually, the new updates automatically appear after pairing the earbuds. Meanwhile, you can also check for updates manually.

Things to remember:

  • Maintain enough battery on both devices (at least 30%).
  • Always put your earbuds into the charging case and keep the case open during the update.
  • Pair your earbuds and smartphone before updating.

How to check for updates:

  • Open AI Life app
  • Connect the earbuds to the smartphone >> place them inside the charging case and leave the case open.
  • Select the corresponding headset widget and then click on Check for updates.
  • If any new update appears, then tap Update.
  • Wait for the update to get completed.
  • Once the update is complete, close the charging case and wait for 10 minutes for the case to get automatically updated.

Huawei FreeBuds 4 comes with a high-resolution sound system along with features like Open-fit Active Noise Cancellation 2.0, Intelligent Audio connection, Swipe controls, and many more.

These earbuds support devices with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity along with pop-up pair with compatible Huawei devices. The FreeBuds 4 is IPX4 rated for water and dust resistance.

Furthermore, these earbuds can provide up to 22 hours of audio playback with ANC disabled, whereas around 14 hours with ANC enabled. It comes with easy controls such as swipe, tap-twice, and press and hold controls.
