Right after the launch, DXOMARK published the first camera evaluation result of the Huawei P50 Pro. This smartphone received 144 points for the rear camera test and was verified as the best camera system.

Why there is no 5G variant of the Huawei P50 series?

The reason is not hidden from anyone but while launching the Huawei P50 series, Richard Yu – CEO of Huawei CBG mentioned the US sanctions badly affected Huawei’s 5G chip access.

So, the company is running short on the 5G chip components and can’t launch the Huawei P50 series with 5G connectivity at the time. To be mentioned, the Huawei P50 series has arrived with Snapdragon 888 4G and Kirin 9000 processors.

Huawei 4nm Kirin 5G processor:

If there is no restriction from the US government then Huawei will surely launch the Huawei P50 series with 5G capabilities powered by a new Kirin processor,

Sources familiar with the supply chain reveal that Huawei’s HiSilicon could have launched an improved version of the Kirin chip with a 4nm process. The process is based on TSMC’s latest node technology and is designed to be compatible with Huawei flagship.

The previous report reveals that Huawei’s semiconductor brand HiSilicon had to give up on printing new processors due to the U.S. ban. However, Huawei has decided to keep the HiSilicon team working at all costs.

HiSilicon team has more than 7,000 people and still developing high-end chips and will be able to cope with it in the next two to three years.

In addition, it is also reported that the HiSilicon is still designing and developing 3nm chips but there’s no confirmation about the progress made to the entire project.
