Huawei, Apple to boost global foldable sales by 37% in 2027: Report

A new report by Counterpoint predicts that Apple, Huawei, and Samsung will take the global foldable sales graph to a new high by 2027. The prediction comes as Cupertino launches the first iPhone fold – iPhone DUO with a Pura X Max-like design.

Counterpoint said the overall global foldable market can ship more than 100 million by the end of this year. Meanwhile, Apple, Huawei, and Samsung’s creations will further boost these shipments by 37% in 2027.

Starting with this year’s forecast, Apple to cover 25% of the market share in 2026. Still, its strong momentum will probably keep it behind Samsung, which may account for 38%, and ahead of Huawei owning 22%.

Huawei is currently serving as the champion of the wide fold and flip phones. The company remains a key driver in China with a broad range of designs. In addition, the Pura X Max will expand the firm’s sales in the foldable market, increasing its revenue.

Other Chinese brands have also started preparing new foldable designs and form factors. This move will likely result in broader participation over the next few years.

For Apple, the report says the initial supply of the iPhone Duo will remain limited. Sales and deliveries will further ramp up gradually after this week’s expected unveiling.

Tarun Pathak, the Research Director at Counterpoint, says:

“Apple’s market entry and stronger demand for wider book-type devices from Samsung and Huawei are expected to further boost demand for foldables, with global shipments poised to rise 37% YoY in 2027.”

How far Huawei, Apple, and Samsung will make up in the 2027 global foldable sales market is still quite unclear. Perhaps we may get a clue after the iPhone Duo joins the market.
