On March 4, 2022, Huawei and TIM Brasil has announced their strategic cooperation by signing MoU to develop the country’s first 5G smart city.

This new collaboration between the two firms will enable 5G network installation, the evolution of technology, monitor network, and improve user experience.

According to the information, this first smart 5G city in Brazil will be the capital of Prana, Curitiba. For the core information, the agreement is signed for two years and is eligible to be extended. Meanwhile, the first test is expected to begin by December 2023.

MIMO:

It’s all about M-MIMO technology, which will further help Huawei and TIM Brasil to develop 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies.

M-MIMO technology or Massive MIMO (M-MIMO) network is a technology that extends the signal transmission range using a large number of antennas and helps deliver data with higher quality.

This type of technology can play a major role in the development of crucial projects such as the 5G city project. The 5G city project can maximize the 5G transmission speed with ultra-low latency and boost the network output.

We are glad to have this opportunity to work with TIM to develop a high-quality 5G network in Curitiba. Our aim is to help TIM lead the industry in the development of 5G networks. Huawei and TIM are both pursuing innovation and success. I believe this will be another successful project in Brazilian telecommunications.” said Cao Ming, Vice President of Huawei Wireless Product Line.
