How to download and install EMUI 12
Huawei has recently started to rollout EMUI 12 for consumers. The top models – the Huawei P40 series, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 30 Pro, and P40 lite series are the first to get this software upgrade via OTA software update. However, if you want to download and install EMUI 12, please follow the instructions below.

- Tap CHECK FOR UPDATES
Wait while the system check for software updates, then push DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL to begin the installation.
However, there are a few things that you should know before moving on to download this major upgrade on your Huawei phone.
Currently, the software is under expansion mode and consumers can download this software update as soon as it appears on their phone. However, the distribution time may vary depending on your country or region.
Although, the update won’t affect your phone but it’s recommended that you make a copy of your data or important file to prevent any unwanted data loss from your phone.

Aside from the above-mentioned models, there are more phones that will soon join the stable EMUI 12 club. These models include:

EMUI 12 comes with lots of new features including the new animations effect that enhances your user experience with fresh elements. EMUI 12 has a new Control Panel consisting of different services in one place, there’s also a Notification Panel with a separate set of features for notification.
