Honor will also launch satellite communication technology: Honor CMO

Honor China CMO, Jiang Hairong-Harrison said that Honor will launch a new satellite communication technology smartphone in the near future. This new comment from Honor’s CMO came while quoting a report on China Telecom.

A China Telecom spokesperson told the media that Huawei is not the only phone maker to launch satellite technology features in smartphones as it will cooperate with more companies.

Reacting to this, Jiang also added that Honor is continuously investing in research and development to make a breakthrough in satellite communication technology for smartphones. However, the Honor CMO didn’t reveal when and which devices will bring this futuristic tech.

Last year, Huawei unveiled a one-way satellite SMS feature with Mate 50 Pro. In early 2023, the tech maker launched P60 Pro with a two-way SMS feature and now, the company has a new flagship with satellite calling.

As of now, other Android phone makers have not announced any such technology in their smartphones but all of the phones could bring this feature in 2024.
