On March 31, Huawei started to push the third build of the HarmonyOS mobile developer beta. The build adds over 1000 APIs to the system, some other optimizations as well as changes to the software system to provide better support to the developers.

When dived into the new features, it’s being found that this new beta builds also brings a feature called “Super Terminal” (Translated), although it’s a translated feature but it comes with very powerful functionality that perfectly completes the purpose of HarmonyOS in the Huawei Ecosystem.

According to the information, the Super Terminal feature is an option directly embedded into the main Settings menu.

As it allows users to automatically connect all nearby Huawei devices including:

  • Phones
  • Tablets
  • Batteries
  • Speakers
  • Computers
  • Cameras

And other smart devices from the Huawei device ecosystem are equipped with Hongmeng OS to provide a cross-device user experience without sacrificing anything or using a third-party app.

This feature comes into play when a user has to push a file or anything related to content directly to the connected device without any hassle.

We know that you’ve heard this kind of functionality in a feature called, Multi-screen collaboration but that feature was limited to PCs and tablets. This new feature would allow users to play more seamlessly among devices compared to the multi-screen collaboration and provide a better user experience.

Although, there could be more features that may appear later on but yeah, as we’re moving forward towards the launch of the HarmonyOS in April, the excitement seems to be rising pretty fast.

HarmonyOS:

Launched at HDC 2019, HarmonyOS AKA Hongmeng OS is designed to provide a seamless cross-device experience through its distributed capabilities and help the company to dominate the internet of everything era. This software was first introduced with smart screen Smart TVs but at HDC 2020, the company expanded its supported platforms and added new ones including:

  • Tablets,
  • Smart wearables
  • Smartphones
  • IoT devices
  • and more.

Last December, Huawei announced the developer beta program for HarmonyOS mobile and opened HarmonyOS mobile developer beta initially for the Huawei P40, Mate 30 and MatePad Pro devices.

As of now, Huawei has released three beta software update for the HarmonyOS mobile developers and in April, Huawei will release the HarmonyOS beta for the public users.

There’s more to come on this matter, and we’ll keep you posted.
