Most of the smartphone companies benchmark their progress against Apple as well as its mobile software iOS. Huawei is no different and the company’s founder mentioned that numerous times in the past.

Speaking of which, HarmonyOS could be the biggest addition to this comparison cycle. Since its launch in 2019, Huawei has kept on improving this new operating system.

It was initially adapted for smart TVs, followed by smartphones, tablets, wearable devices, and smart cars. If we talk specifically about smartphones, Huawei revolutionized the software from upside down.

The current version of HarmonyOS 4 comes with the smoothest animations throughout the UI. You will find interactive features such as smart folders, service widgets, better quick controls, personalization features, and more.

Tipster Fixedfocusdigital said that Huawei has been addressing this for a while and that the HarmonyOS operating system is inspired to benchmark against iOS and not Android.

According to data from Counterpoint Research, Android has 72% of the mobile operating systems in China, Apple with 20% and HarmonyOS captured 8% of the market as of the first quarter of this year. Also, HarmonyOS 4 has acquired 100 million users within 2 months of release.

HarmonyOS NEXT:

At the Huawei Developer Conference 2023, Huawei announced the HarmonyOS NEXT platform. This new software is a self-developed HarmonyOS version without an Android open-source library. It means that the future version of the HarmonyOS would only support native HarmonyOS applications.

To provide native HarmonyOS user experience, many top Chinese companies have begun to recruit HarmonyOS developers. Many of them are partnering with Huawei to develop the app with high expertise.

This will lead HarmonyOS to its app ecosystem and enable a better user experience for all of the HarmonyOS consumers.
