HarmonyOS 4 will launch tomorrow at HDC 2023 and Huawei will also start a public beta test program for smartphone users including the P40 and Mate 30 series devices.

Tipster from Weibo shared information that Huawei will push HarmonyOS 4 closed beta for participating devices. Interestingly, the first batch of HarmonyOS 4 eligible devices also expands up to Kirin 990 era. This raises the time for the Huawei P40 series and Mate 30 series.

You should know that the models with this chipset were unveiled around 2019. We would like to see whether Kirin 980 cadre makes it into this new software.

In addition, Huawei P50, Huawei P50 Pro, Huawei Nova 11, Huawei Nova 11 Pro, and other models will get the first slot in the HarmonyOS 4 wagon. These models were previously on the developer version upgrade list.

This year’s iOS 17 is “the smallest upgrade in history”, and Android 14 has no bright spots, in terms of functions, new features, and experience. Therefore, HarmonyOS 4 have a high time to outshine everyone in the competition.

The developer beta testers revealed that the software has smoother and smoother animation of the unlock screen.

The status bar of HarmonyOS 4 has also ushered in an upgrade. This includes the signal and battery of the new UI,  and more UI elements shifted from one place to another. The music interface of the control center has been revised, the notification interface has added category notifications, and the camera interface UI has changed.

HarmonyOS 4 will launch tomorrow at HDC and we’ll keep you posted about the roadmap. Check our article below for more information.
