Huawei‘s self-developed operating system HarmonyOS comes with a variety of capabilities that enable a lot of new features for the consumers. Currently, the phone maker is operating version 2.0 of HarmonyOS but soon, the company will introduce HarmonyOS 3.0 for Huawei devices.

Currently, Huawei has not announced the launch of any beta program for HarmonyOS 3.0. However, it could unveil and start to test in the next month in older flagships such as Huawei P50 Pro and more. Similar to the HarmonyOS 2.0, there will be numerous devices that will get this operating system onboard.

HarmonyOS Evolution:

At Huawei Developer Conference 2019, the company unveiled its self-developed operating system HarmonyOS for the consumers. The operating system is based on the philosophy of inter-connected cross-device features and aims high for a smart user experience.

HarmonyOS 1.0 only supported smart TVs as a platform but the HarmonyOS 2.0 (unveiled at HDC 2020) had a big surprise for us. As Huawei added a bunch of devices to the support list including:

  • Smartphones
  • Tablets
  • Smart wearables
  • IoT devices
  • Smart Car Systems
  • Third party devices support

This is one of the biggest changes the Chinese tech maker has made so far for its new operating system and bringing it down to the consumer’s belt. Talking specifically, the addition of the phone has brought in many changes and extended the reach of HarmonyOS to a new level.

Talking about HarmonyOS 3.0, the company introduced this version at HDC 2021. Aside from some new features, Huawei has pushed to increase the performance of the system’s kernel to provide a better user experience and low power consumption. Version 3.0 also aims to bring more power to the Super Device feature, which allows you to connect your smart devices with a single super device such as a smartphone.
