Guo Ping begins Huawei’s next Rotating Chairman tenure

Huawei has formally announced, from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, Mr. Guo Ping will be the rotating chairman of the board. The rotating chairman is the highest leader of the company during his duty and presides over the company’s board of directors and the standing committee of the board of directors.

Born in 1966, Mr. Guo graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (now Huazhong University of Science and Technology) with a master’s degree.

He joined Huawei in 1988 and served successively as project manager of the product development department, general manager of the supply chain, director of the president’s office, chief legal officer, president of the process and IT management department, president of the corporate development department, chairman and president of Huawei’s device company, the company’s rotating CEO, and finance The director of the committee, etc., is currently the company’s vice chairman, rotating chairman and other positions.

Succeeds Eric Xu:

Guo will succeed Mr. Xu Zhijun (Eric Xu), who was appointed for the rotating chairman tenure from April 1, 2021, to September 30, 2021.

Mr. Xu joined Huawei in 1993 and has served as President of the Wireless Network Product Line, Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer, Chief Products & Solutions Officer, Chairman of the Investment Review Board, Rotating CEO of Huawei, and Chairman of the Strategy & Development Committee (SDC). Currently, Mr. Xu serves as Deputy Chairman of the Board and Rotating Chairman of Huawei.
