Huawei today released the November 2023 EMUI security patch details for the global Huawei smartphones, meanwhile, a major update such as EMUI 14 is missing from the action.

Huawei releases monthly and quarterly security patches to improve the phone’s security and it may also help you to get some important system stability optimizations. Other than these, if you have good luck, then you might also receive seasonal features as well as major upgrades.

November 2023 addresses various bugs and issues that have been found and fixed in the past month. The security patch details also mentioned some of the EMUI software threats from the past build versions.

For now, the company mentioned CVE_2023-4863 as a critical vulnerability from the Android October 2023 security bulletin. CVE-2023-4863 is a heap buffer overflow in a web browser and allows an attacker to perform an out-of-bounds memory write via a customized HTML page.

There are a total of 1 critical, and 18 high-level security vulnerabilities addressed from the Android security bulletin. On the other hand, Huawei patched 4 high, 1 critical, and 18 medium-level security issues from its own database. From what we can observe, all of the bugs have been noticed on EMUI 11, 12, and 13 software versions.

Huawei smartphone users can expect the tech maker to release this new November 2023 EMUI security patch soon with a software update.

EMUI 14:

Aside from these, Huawei smartphone users have long been waiting for the next major software release, EMUI 14. However, Huawei has not confirmed a launch date for the time being. Meanwhile, the company is still expanding EMUI 13 for old models. In that case, we don’t have a clue of what the company is actually planning for the existing EMUI software users.
