The preliminary risk analysis conducted by the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security hits that the telecoms won’t have to exclude Huawei from their new 5G mobile network projects.

Huawei awaits for an official statement on the continues use of Android

“A task force set up to examine the threat from state-backed spying 5G networks had concluded that was a “Sufficient answer to the threat”, said Justice Minister Ferd Grapperhaus.

“Telecom providers are required to take additional security measures to increase resilience to the threat from countries. One of these measures is to set extra high requirements for suppliers of services and products in the critical parts of the telecom network,” he added.

In this way, the Dutch government has clearly shown that Huawei will not be excluded from the country’s 5G development. As recently, The U.S. government has intensified pressure on its allies to exclude Huawei from the construction of 5G networks.

Grapperhaus said that task force carried a risk assessment with the three big Dutch telecoms including KPN, T-Mobile and VodafoneZiggo, which will allow telecoms to have extra high standards for equipment suppliers.
