China Telecom has unveiled a new custom version of Huawei Mate 60 Pro with Quantum security, a pinnacle in mobile communication features.

With this new product, China Telecom Quantum Group showcased the new product in its segment of “Quantum Security” for the first time at the Digital Technology Ecosystem Conference 2023 in Guangzhou, China.

The new Huawei Mate 60 Pro with quantum security has integrated quantum information technology using the VoLTE network. It has built-in custom chipsets, a new secret algorithm, and a quantum security-powered SIM Card. These three combine a triple sided user protection.

Benefits:

Quantum security is based on the use of quantum key distribution (QKD), which enables two parties to share a secret key that can be used to encrypt and decrypt messages.

Aside from sending encrypted messages, China Telecom’s version of the quantum security system allows users to make encrypted calls through its native application on mobile devices. Sometimes, the encryption goes beyond communication and could also protect users’ online activity.

China Telecom said that the Huawei Mate 60 Pro with quantum security has self-developed technologies, which provide end-to-end encryption and decryption for calls and messages. On the other hand, it prevents call monitoring during the network transmission.

How it works?

Based on the QKD method, a new key will be generated each time the user prompts a call for maximum user privacy.

In action, when a user decides to make a quantum secret communication, the feature will first authenticate the user. Then, the system will prompt the user interface to conduct such encrypted conversation. It may switch to mobile network mode automatically.

China Telecom:

The network service provider has been working on such technology for a long time. In 2021, China Telecom announced its first carrier-grade quantum security. In the following year, it brought the second generation of carrier quantum security.

With its full encrypted network, China Telecom is now introducing this technology built into premium smartphones. For now, China Telecom has not shared the availability of this custom Huawei Mate 60 Pro smartphone.
