April 2023 security patch began to rollout for Huawei smartphones and the company posted the latest safety fixes for the EMUI 12-powered Huawei Nova 7i smartphone in the global market.

It’s good to know that the Nova 7i is getting the first slot in the April 2023 wagon. Meanwhile, the rollout increases the capability to fight against potential threats found in the recent build.

Previously, Huawei released important software for this phone and it brought in new app performance as well as network improvements for a better user experience. Now, let’s jump to the latest rollout.

Huawei is sending April 2023 security with EMUI version and the update package size is 244 megabytes. The changelog mentions the following improvements.


  • Integrates security patches released in April 2023 for improved system security.

However, there aren’t any other optimizations recorded this month.

April 2023 security patch fixes various bugs and security vulnerabilities. In terms of numbers, Huawei has fixed 10 high and 2 medium levels vulnerabilities. There are some system stability hotfixes added to the build with these security patches.

There are some precautions that you should follow in order to get everything done smoothly. Also, the update won’t erase your personal data but we recommend that you back up any important data before updating the software. The update package will be deleted automatically once the installation finishes.

To grab this firmware, you need to open up the Settings page and fetch out the System & Updates page. From here you can follow the on-screen instructions to check for a new version.


Currently, Huawei has not shared the details of the EMUI 13 expansion. However, Huawei Nova 7i users are eagerly waiting to know more about their status eligibility. It is more likely that the phone will participate in the EMUI 13 installation program. Yet, more information is awaited and we’ll keep you posted with the latest developments.
