Alibaba Cloud releases HarmonyOS NEXT-based SDK for MediaBox player

Alibaba Cloud has officially shared the HarmonyOS NEXT-based SDK for its MediaBox audio and video player device. The information reveals that the respective device has completely adapted to the upcoming giant HarmonyOS version upgrade.

MediaBox Player is a compact device integration suite introduced by the Alibaba Cloud platform for audio and video digitization. It has a bunch of significant features to provide a seamless and reliable audio as well as video experience to consumers.

Eventually, the list of capabilities counts live video broadcast, real-time audio and video, video on demand, short video creation, and beautified special effects.

In the latest edition, Alibaba Cloud has launched the HarmonyOS NEXT SDK for the MediaBox Player to enhance the audio and video facilities. The current version based on the new HarmonyOS upgrade has the following features and controls:

Playback protocols and formats

• Live playback: Supports common video formats for live broadcast scenarios such as RTMP, HLS, and FLV.
• On-demand playback: supports common video formats for on-demand scenarios such as HLS and MP4; supports audio formats for on-demand scenarios such as MP3.
• H.264 encoding protocol: Supports playing video streams of H.264 encoding protocol; supports switching between soft and hard decoding, and downgrading to soft decoding if hard decoding fails.
• H.265 encoding protocol: Supports playing video streams of H.265 encoding protocol; supports switching between soft and hard decoding, and downgrading to soft decoding if hard decoding fails.
• URL playback: supports online video and local video playback in the form of URL.

Playback controls

• Basic control: supports start, end, pause, seek, automatic play and other playback control functions.
• Seek: Supports dragging to a specified position (UI supports gestures); supports buffered video content without clearing the buffer content when dragging and dragging quickly.
• Accurate Seek: Supports dragging to the specified position accurately to the frame level.

Video Effects

• Customized player size: Supports customizing the width and height of the player.
• Display mode: Supports setting three display modes: fill, rotate, and mirror.
• Brightness adjustment: Supports system brightness adjustment (UI supports gestures).

Audio Effects

• Volume adjustment: Support calling the system interface to adjust the volume of watching videos.
• Mute: Support turning on and off the mute function.

Playback performance

• Retry if playback fails: Automatically retry when playback fails.
• Automatic reconnection: Supports the automatic reconnection function of live broadcasts.

Quality Service

• Log reporting: Supports reporting of player SDK logs, and statistics of audio and video on-demand and live broadcast-related playback point information.
• Event callback: supports playback status callback, first frame callback, playback completion, or failure callback.
