It was previously mentioned that the upcoming flagship – Huawei Mate 40 series will feature a 120Hz refresh rate display but now, new information hints that Huawei plans to stick with 90Hz for this year.

According to the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Ross Young, Huawei Mate 40 series will still use a 90Hz display. While the company will use a 120Hz display in next year’s Huawei Mate 50 Series.

This also raises the possibility that Huawei P50 Series, which releases early in the year, may debut with the 120Hz refresh rate. However, nothing is confirmed officially at the moment.

Huawei Mate 40 Series will launch in the second half of this year and this flagship lineup likely to come with new camera technologies. While new information about this flagship suggests featuring even higher refresh rate display than Huawei P40.

CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Ross Young, recently shared a list of 2020’s high display refresh rate phones, which includes the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 featuring 120Hz refresh rate.

With the launch of the Huawei P40 series, Huawei introduced the new quad curved overflow display with a higher display refresh rate of 90Hz. Huawei phone’s previously limited to the 60Hz display.

A higher refresh rate allows the display to refresh the screen content more dynamically. The difference for you would be smoother animations compared to a 60Hz panel. Gaming would also be a treat, particularly in fast-paced titles.

According to the previous report, Huawei Mate 40 series will launch somewhere around October 2020. The phone will come pre-equipped with EMUI 11 (Android 11).
