Xiaomi starts Android 16-based HyperOS 2.3 testing for global phones

HyperOS 2.2 is still in the development phase and ahead of that, Xiaomi has started internal testing of the 2.3 version. Looks like the company is speeding up the development of its Android 16-based HyperOS software upgrade for its devices.

According to XiaomiTime, the company initiated the Android 16-based HyperOS 2.3 internal testing for the Xiaomi 15 device. The latest software activity is taking place in both the Chinese and global markets (including Europe).

Currently, the company is experimenting with the latest firmware build on only the standard Xiaomi 15 handset. Although it may soon begin a similar activity for other models.

Looking into the details, Xiaomi is focusing on the Android 16 integration into HyperOS and its compatibility with the top-end smartphones. These tests will reveal the potential problems in software installation before large-scale development.

The inputs further say that HyperOS 2.3 may go live by the end of June this year. It could bring better customizations for the UI, improved security aspects, and some anonymous enhancements to the smartphone system.

Other changes of the HyperOS 2.3 and its eligible devices are currently unknown. Although the company may drop more clues on this matter in the coming days.
