Xiaomi phone users could adjust chip frequency with Android 16 (HyperOS)

Andorid 16 Developer Preview is live for Xiaomi 15 and 14T Pro, and it looks like certain developers have already started exploring the new build. An X tipster says that Xiaomi phone users could experience a chip tuning (CPU) feature with Android 16.
Tipster @kacskrz noted that Xiaomi’s latest Android 16 beta has certain new strings related to CPU refining. It hints at a feature that may allow devices to overclock their device’s CPU/GPU frequency by opting for simple changes.
As per the strings, device owners can adjust a few parts of the CPU. For example, voltage and frequency. However, one can’t make amendments as per their will.
It is so because the feature will have a particular limit to every adjustment. Once you have adjusted the frequency, your phone will restart and may sustain itself.
Perjaps, Xiaomi will enable its phone holders to tune their CPU frequency (chip) with an Android 16-based HyperOS upgrade. Users may see this feature as ‘CPU tuning’ and find the changes under the “Chip performance dashboard”.

The feature could play wonders for those who are tech enthusiasts. They can overclock the CPU frequency to experience a boost in performance or under-clock it to increase the battery life of the device.
The tipster adds that the feature is still in development. Hence, it is unclear whether it will be available for all Xiaomi devices or only flagship models. Though we may find the exact details on this matter in the time ahead.
