Xiaomi halts HyperOS updates following Chinese New Year

Xiaomi is pausing the HyperOS updates rollout for its devices due to Chinese New Year 2025. In case you are unable to receive any new version on your Redmi, POCO, or Xiaomi handset, then you have to wait patiently for some days.
New Year is one of the biggest festivals in China. As per the Chinese calendar, the celebration goes on for 15 days. Meanwhile, the public holidays for the 2025 New Year will begin on January 28 and will remain till February 04, 2025.
Due to this fest, many Chinese companies pause their operations temporarily and resume their work after holidays. It’s a short break for everyone before a new start.
However, this break often leads to a pause in productivity. Firms choose to offer relief to their employees, respecting the Chinese culture, tradition, and beliefs.
According to XiaomiTime, Xiaomi halted the HyperOS updates till February 16 following the Chinese New Year 2025. This could be disappointing for those users who are eagerly waiting for the newest HyperOS 2.0 or 2.1 software version.
Xiaomi began rolling out the HyperOS 2.0 update in December last year. The company has also introduced the 2.1 version which will likely debut in global markets by the end of February 2025. You can check more details on this topic HERE.
For now, users have to keep patience and look forward to the official update announcements. We suggest keeping your devices up-to-date and installing any pending version from the Settings app > System & Updates > Software Updates.
