Xiaomi could change its ad policy with HyperOS 3 (Android 16)

Xiaomi is reportedly planning to upgrade its ad policy with the HyperOS 3 (Android 16) update. While many users still demand a solution for ad pop-ups on their devices, the company could offer an option to completely turn off these ads.
As per XiaomiTime, Xiaomi might change its ad policy with the HyperOS 3.0 upgrade. The company put efforts into disabling most system ads in the recent software versions. Xiaomi aims to extend these efforts with the next build.
Inputs reveal that Xiaomi phone users are looking forward to an all-out solution that can either reduce advertisements significantly or simply turn them off.
The current HyperOS version offers settings to better control advertisement management on Xiaomi phones. One can now observe fewer ads on system apps than the previous builds. But still, ads remain all over the system like pre-installed apps.
Although some industry experts and tipsters claimed that the Android 16-based HyperOS 3.0 may introduce new changes for ads. These changes are as follows:
- Complete opt-out ads during the initial setup
- Ad-free premium plans for Xiaomi phone users
- Ad implementations could vary as per regions
- Additional reduction of ads within system apps.
Reducing apps or switching to turn off ads will eventually offer a cleaner and Pro-like interface. It will also lessen the data/power usage. Users may also observe improved performance of the device with the new ad policy upgrade.
