Xiaomi began testing HyperOS 2.2 on flagship devices
HyperOS 2.2 version has now surfaced online amid the HyperOS 2.1 global rollout for Xiaomi devices. The company seemingly started testing another major software build for its devices. It may bring a second wave of useful and smart features.
According to XiaomiTime, Xiaomi began testing the HyperOS 2.2 version for its top-end models. Just like Google, looks like the Chinese tech giant is bringing feature drop updates for its smartphones in the form of x.1 and x.2 builds.
Inputs reveal that the company is internally testing the new version on three flagship devices in China. Two of these are phones while one belongs to the tablet family.
- Xiaomi 15: OS2.0.200.3
- Redmi K70 Ultra: OS2.0.200.3
- Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro: OS2.0.200.5
These versions are based on Android 15. Unlike the major x.0 software upgrades, the upcoming HyperOS versions will likely feature certain enhancements.
Xiaomi has already offered a huge list of AI capabilities with the 2.1 build. Hence, HyperOS 2.2 may bring minimalistic changes to devices in terms of UI, privacy and security, battery optimizations, as well as performance improvements.
While the testing is in progress, it is unclear when Xiaomi will release the new HyperOS 2.2 software update. Although we can expect the build to go live by the end of March or in early April.
HyperOS 2.1 is out in the global market for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The firm will gradually expand the update to more devices in the coming weeks. You can check the HyperOS 2.1 software features below.
