Xiaomi announces 6-year HyperOS updates support for two more devices

Xiaomi is now bringing the 6-year HyperOS updates blessing for two more devices. While the new software rollout policy is confined to flagship and selected mid-range models, the company is now releasing this support for POCO smartphones.

The Chinese firm has expanded its long-term software rollout commitment to some newly launched POCO handsets. Under this scheme, new POCO devices will receive 6-year Xiaomi HyperOS software updates.

Note that the 6 years of update support refers to security rollouts till 2031. Meanwhile, the major Android OS support is expected to be the same as before.

Xiaomi recently served this blessing to the Redmi Note 14 series. Now, it is bringing this significant upgrade to two POCO devices. These are:

• POCO F7 Pro
• POCO F7 Ultra

The company has updated five newly released devices with the long-term software updates policy, including the Xiaomi 15, 15 Ultra, Redmi Note 14, POCO F7 Pro, and F7 Ultra.

While most Android phone makers provide 2-3 years of security rollouts to their high-end devices, Xiaomi is taking a new step by offering 6 years of patches.

Looks like the company aims to increase the lifespan of its devices. Users will get longer device life, enhanced features, improved security, and an efficient experience. It is just the beginning, and Xiaomi could expand this software policy to more devices.
