WhatsApp is readying a new Chat Lock feature for Linked Devices that will enable users to secure their chats over multiple devices. The latest capability is currently in the development phase and only available to some Android beta testers.

According to the details, WhatsApp is releasing the effective Chat Lock feature for Linked Devices via the Google Play Beta Program, tagged with the Android 2.24.4.14 version. Meanwhile, the company will soon roll it out to general consumers with a stable application update.

From the name, WhatsApp users will be able to lock their chats across various linked devices. All you need is to lock the specific conversation initially on your main phone. This will ultimately lock the respective chat on all other linked handsets.

To run this feature, users will require a secret code to open the list of all locked chats in a linked device. Thus, your security and privacy remain at the peak of safeguarding.

Notably, this addition will layer your privacy with extra protection and shield your confidential chats from snoopy persons around you, even if they snatch your smartphone or try to reach your WhatsApp account and go through conversations.

The extension of Chat Lock functionality to Linked Devices ensures a more secure messaging experience. One can easily switch to multiple devices without stressing on privacy terms. The feature is making its way to some beta testers and will soon be available to the general public in the coming weeks.
