WhatsApp to make profile links visibility more private

WhatsApp is readying a new privacy setting to make your profile links more private. The new feature is currently in the testing phase. However, it is rolling to some limited beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program.
Profile Link on WhatsApp is a useful feature that enables users to add social media links to their profiles. If you are an Instagramer, then you can link your Instagram account to your WhatsApp Profile. Your contacts can easily visit your Instagram account via this link.
Earlier, the feature seemingly allowed everyone to see your profile link. Although the company is now working to make this capability more secure and private for users.
Found in the Android 2.25.5.19 beta version, WhatsApp will soon enable users to manage settings for their profile links visibility and make it more private.
The feature will give more control to users over who can see the social media links added to their WhatsApp profile. The new setting has four options:
- Everyone
- My Contacts
- My contacts except…
- Nobody
If you have a public Instagram account, then the “Everyone” option is the right choice. But if you want to limit unwanted interactions, the other three options can help.
Note that all these features are optional. Users can select any of these as per their preference. The new capability is in beta development but will soon roll out to more users via a stable release.
