WhatsApp to introduce animated tabs for bottom navigation bar

WhatsApp is readying an interesting feature that will make chat experience more fun: animated tabs for the bottom navigation bar. The new addition is currently in the testing phase, but it will soon go official with the new stable app updates.

Found in the WhatsApp Android beta 2.25.9.4, animated tabs for the bottom navigation bar are reaching beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program. It may soon be open for more users.

Some testers noticed a slight animation while switching between tabs in the bottom navigation bar of the app. As per the details, the animation is active by default.

The company might have taken this step to make the app more interactive for users. Animation between tabs in the navigation bar will make the screen look more fluent and engaging to users. It will allow the app to remain less static.
