WhatsApp to bring redesigned call menu for individual and group chats

WhatsApp is readying a redesigned call menu for individual and group chats. The new addition will aim to make the calling experience more efficient for users. It won’t require multiple steps to process and will even save you from accidental dials.
Spotted in the Android beta 2.25.5.8 version, WhatsApp began rolling out a redesigned call menu from its chats. The feature is available to limited beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program. Meanwhile, others have to wait for a stable release.
The company is revamping the call option present beside the chat or group names. Users can currently see two separate tabs for placing a voice or a video call.
While the feature simplifies the calling action, it often leads to accidental or unintentional calls, resulting in a kind of embarrassment. But WhatsApp is now working to calm down this panic and provide users with better control over call tabs.
Inputs reveal that the redesigned call menu will merge both voice and video call buttons in a single overflow card. Just tap on the drop-down menu beside the video icon and select from options like Voice call, Video call, and More.
Tapping on the More button will let you select group members with whom you want to talk. Next, you can create a call link quickly via the shortcut present in the menu. As a result, you don’t need to open the calls tab or the attachment menu to call a person. The new change will add more efficiency to the app.
