WhatsApp to bring filters for status updates section

WhatsApp is once again ready to give a new makeover to the status updates section with “filters”. The company is working on a new capability that will make the status and channel viewing experience interactive and more convenient for users.
Spotted in the Android beta 2.25.4.10 version, WhatsApp is preparing filters for the status updates section. The feature is rolling out to some beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program.
Filters are already available for chats. It enables users to easily organize their chats based on priorities. Now such a feature is coming for the status updates tab.
Filters for Status Updates will allow users to personalize the display content in the updates tab. There will be three filters: All, Updates, and Channels. These will work as:
- All: It will show both status and Channels in the Updates tab.
- Updates: These will only display the status of other contacts and let you upload your own status.
- Channels: The tab will not show any status but only Channels.
Simply put, the feature will let you decide whether you want to see only status updates, channels, or both together. All these filters will show the respective segment vertically.
The feature will eventually provide accessibility and better control of status and channel visibility. It will offer a more organized format of status updates and channels than ever before.
