WhatsApp readying ‘reshare and forward’ feature for status updates

WhatsApp status update viewers will soon be able to reshare and forward your status, but only if you permit them. The company is working on a new feature that will allow users to share others’ status on a wider scale, with their permission.
Found in the Android beta 2.25.18.9 version, WhatsApp is working on a new “reshare and forward” feature for status updates. From the name, the tool will let you choose who can reshare and forward your status on a broader spectrum.
“Allow sharing
Let people reshare and forward your status.”
While sharing your status, the preview page shows a “Status viewers” tab at the bottom of the screen. Tapping on this button will show you certain options regarding who can see your status updates. The last option in this list will be “Allow sharing”.
If you turn on the toggle of this feature, it will let you select contacts that can reshare and forward your particular status to their contacts and other members.

The Allow Sharing feature will work as follows:
- Users can share someone’s status if they are allowed to share.
- The person who has uploaded the status will be notified when you reshare their status.
So far, Resharing was only possible in WhatsApp status if you had already mentioned the person in your status. But the company will now let you decide to choose even those contacts to reshare your status who you have not mentioned.
The feature is perfect for those who want to wider audience for their status instead of being packed within contacts. Note that your identity will be safe and anonymous to people outside the direct contact list.
