WhatsApp preparing a chat memory feature for Meta AI

WhatsApp is working on an interesting and useful feature related to Meta AI called Chat Memory. The feature is interesting as it can remember what chats you have had with the app’s built-in AI chatbot. Though it’s useful as it can erase those chats.
Meta AI is a significant bot in WhatsApp. It helps you with your queries and enables you to do certain tasks quickly with the help of artificial intelligence.
Being an AI bot, Meta remembers your dietary choices, personal interests, conversation style, and even allergies when mentioned in the specific chat.
But often, users fear that if the chatbot saves their data or chats, it can risk their security. Thanks to WhatsApp – it is soon adding a new feature to Meta AI named chat memory. The feature appeared in the Android beta 2.25.11.13 version.
- Memory: View or delete what Meta AI remembers about you.
From the name, the feature allows users to store specific details by explicitly commanding Meta AI to remember them. For instance, if a user instructs the AI bot to remember their professional details, Meta AI will store them and use them accordingly.
The benefit is that Meta AI will only remember information that users will share with it intentionally. It won’t have access to messages shared in other chats.
Users will always have full control over what Meta AI should remember about them and what it should erase from its memory. The new feature is currently in the beta phase but will soon be available via a stable release.
