[Update: Optus] Huawei Mate 20 and P30 series receiving EMUI 10 in Australia

Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro in Australia begin receiving EMUI 10 on Optus with EMUI version 10.0.0.180 and 4.43GB update size.

February 23, 2020:

Huawei last month announced EMUI 10 for Huawei P30, P30 Pro, Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, Nova 5T non-carrier phones in Australia. And Vodafone Australia has won the race among Australian mobile carriers by first providing EMUI 10 for Huawei P30 and P30 Pro users.

However, there’s nothing noted from other carriers including Telstra or Optus in the country. More information about the update linked below.

The EMUI 10 is built on top of Android 10 and brings new changes in the UX design including Magazine Style UI layout, Morandi Colors, Dark Mode, Golden Icons, New Animations, Improved privacy features.

Vodafone Australia is rolling out EMUI 10 for Huawei P30 and P30 Pro with EMUI version 10.0.0.178 and a software package of 4.66GB.

How to update:

Via Settings:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Click on ‘System
  3. Click on ‘Software update
  4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES
  5. Click on ‘Download and install

Via HiCare:

  1. Open HiCare app
  2. Click on ‘Services’ tab
  3. Click on ‘Update
  4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES
  5. Click on ‘Download and install

Other Carriers:

Other than the Vodafone, we’ve not seen any carrier rolling out the EMUI 10 but it’s likely to begin by the end of February or early March and then expand to more models gradually.

In January Huawei announced its EMUI 10 rollout plans for eligible devices in the global market and start sending the latest EMUI version to Huawei P30, Mate 20 series, Nova 5T and more devices.
