Video platform Kwai developing HarmonyOS native app with Huawei

Kwai (Kuaishou) video platform announced cooperation with Huawei to develop the HarmonyOS native app. With this initiation, both parties will work on smarter, faster, and more productive services that can enhance the overall user experience.

Kwai is an online social network surface for short and trendy videos. It connects people via a virtual community and enables them to create or share videos of their lives, recordings, play daily challenges, or like the best-posted memes and videos.

With the onset of this year, Kwai Group Chairman Cheng Yixiao said that the iconic video platform qualified for group-level profits for the first time since it went public.

Now, Kwai Video collaborates with Huawei and signed an agreement to launch the HarmonyOS native app development. The Chinese tech giant shared the latest news on HarmonyOS Weibo page and described the benefits of this cooperation.

Huawei says that HarmonyOS NEXT-based Kwai app will possess richer content and proficient short video social services for users. The new app version will offer a more convenient experience to users with smoother and smarter functionalities.

During the Pocket 2 launch, Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO – Yu Chengdong said the company is working on a major software version that will arrive this fall. We may find the official HarmonyOS NEXT Galaxy Edition in the coming months.

The CEO also mentioned that most of the HarmonyOS NEXT-based apps will be available online in the second half of this year. Thus, the progress is in full swing and users may hear a big software upgrade news soon.
