Upcoming Huawei vertical foldable smartphone may get new name
Huawei is busy developing its upcoming vertical foldable phone, but will it be labeled as Pocket 3 or carry a different name? A new leak says that alongside various upgrades, the Chinese OEM may also change the name of its next flip-flop model.
The company introduced the first “Pocket” handset in December 2021 as the P50 Pocket. In 2022, it brought a cheaper vertical foldable phone called the Pocket S.
Pocket 2, launched last year, showed a slight change in the name. Now, the upcoming Huawei vertical foldable is said to feature a new name instead of Pocket 3.
Weibo tipster @FixedFocus says that the next Huawei clamshell might not be called Pocket 3. It is codenamed “Verde” and will likely debut as a new folding phone lineup.
The leak sparked immense excitement among netizens for the upcoming flip-flop device. The new name for the flagship vertical folable is unclear. Though we are already in March, and Huawei may soon tease the ‘incredible form factor’ handset.

Yu Chengdong, the Chairman of Huawei Consumer Business, has revealed that the upcoming phone will be an affordable creation and bring multiple surprises for users. It will likely bring major changes in terms of design and the imaging system.
A recent leak suggested that the upcoming folding handset may feature a new Kirin 9020s chipset. The company could use an overclocked version of the Kirin 9020 5G processor with improved performance and seamless efficiency.
