Upcoming Huawei small tablet can sport ultra-lightweight design
Huawei is seemingly preparing a small tablet to launch next month with an ultra-lightweight design. Meanwhile, a new leak has shared the key details of the upcoming MatePad product, revealing the appearance, display, and battery specifications.
Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation says that the new Huawei small tablet will feature an ultra-light and thin design. It will probably be the slimmest MatePad product yet.
As per the details, the new tablet can have a body thickness of only 5.x mm, while it could weigh around 200 grams. If the info is accurate, it would be lighter and thinner than MatePad T8 launched in 2020. (8.6mm thickness, 310 grams weight)
The tipster reveals that the small tablet device will adopt an 8.8-inch OLED screen, support a 16:10 display ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Perhaps, the tech giant can use the dual-layer OLED solution that it has equipped in its latest flagship tablets.

Further inputs say the upcoming Huawei small tablet will adopt a Kirin 9 series flagship chipset. It could be a downclocked version of the Kirin 9020 5G chipset.
The new tablet may pack a medium-sized battery with probably 40W power adapter. Other features, such as name, camera, AI features, and internal parameters, are unknown for now. Although we may grab these revelations soon.
Previous leaks revealed that the new-gen Huawei MatePad small tablet can launch in June alongside the Pura 80 series. It will mainly focus on the office efficiency and productivity instead of launching as a gaming tablet.
