These Redmi and POCO devices will no longer get HyperOS updates

Xiaomi has listed a few Redmi and POCO devices that will no longer receive HyperOS updates. It’s a regular shift in the Xiaomi smartphone lives. After the lifespan completion of certain models, the company officially updates its EOL (end of life) list.
The Chinese OEM is known for distributing HyperOS updates to a wide range of smartphones. It has a different strategy for every model like Redmi and POCO.
Redmi and POCO handsets are eligible for two or three major OS upgrades as well as four years of security patches. Hereafter, the company adds them to the EOL list.
As of now, the tech giant ended the HyperOS updates support for some Redmi and POCO devices. These models will no longer get major software upgrades, monthly security patch rollouts, or simple improvement patches. Check these phones below:
Redmi Devices
- Redmi Note 11 SE
- Redmi Note 11S 5G
- Redmi Note 11S
- Redmi Note 11
- Redmi Note 11 5G
- Redmi 10C
- Redmi 10 2022
POCO Devices
- POCO M4 Pro
- POCO X4 Pro 5G
Xiaomi often ends software support for its devices as they complete their life cycle. However, this process creates a dilemma for users already using the EOL models.
In this case, you can continue to use the device without expecting new features or security updates. Users can further switch to a new model with long-term software support. The final option is to look for unofficial upgrades such as LineageOS.
