SERES Huawei Smart Selection M5 electric car to launch soon with three powertrains

Huawei and SERES are planning to launch the second new smart car in collaboration,  which was also reported earlier. As per the previous reports, the upcoming smart car was codenamed “Aotu”.

According to the new information, the official reports disclose that the new car launch with the combined technologies of both Huawei and SERES in order to build high-end luxury SUVs. It is based on pure Electric Drive Extended Range Platform (DE-i).

Also, it is expected to offer advanced autonomous driving assistance for safe and secure driving. In addition to this, the car will be equipped with Huawei’s latest HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit for the first time.

Launching:

Last month, SERES organized the AITO brand launch conference in Chongqing and launched the high-end smart new-electric vehicle brand, unveiled the logo, and announced that it would release its first model on December 23. According to the previous info, the list of new energy vehicles by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reveals that this car is the Huawei Smart Selection M5 and AITO M5.

New Information:

Just recently, the Chinese media got the application plan of AITO M5. This model will offer three powertrains. Let’s dive into the new car specification.

This new smart electric car comes with 4770 x 1930 x 1625 mm (length, width, height) and with a 2880mm wheelbase. In terms of styling, the car uses a very sporty design language, with a large area air intake grille (hybrid) at the front and a slim through-type taillight design at the rear.

It comes with ginconellis and a logo marked with Huawei Smart Selection M5 (Huawei Smart Selection is optional).  The Pure Electric Drive Extended Range Platform DE-i is reported to have 4-second 0-100 km/h acceleration performance and a battery life of over 1000 km.

This model will also be equipped with the Harmony OS locomotive system, with a top speed of 210 km/h and a total mass of 2710 kg. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with Extended Range Power, a 1.5T engine manufactured by Chongqing Xiaokang Power and has a maximum power of 92kW.

The two-wheel-drive model is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 200kW, while the four-wheel-drive model offers two optional powertrains, which can output a maximum power of 165kW/150kW and 165kW/200kW respectively.
