September/October 2020 security update released for Huawei MatePad Pro and MediaPad M5 in Europe

Huawei has begun sending the new software update for Huawei’s three tablets including Huawei MatePad Pro, MediaPad M5 8.4 inches, and MediaPad M5 Pro. This update mainly brings the security patch released in September and October 2020 for better system security.

Aside from this, Huawei has selected the Huawei MediaPad M6 series for EMUI 11 beta program and sending the respective EMUI 11 betas for MediaPad M6 series users. in China.

Moreover, Huawei MatePad Pro users already received the stable EMUI 11 version in China. As per EMUI 11 official rollout schedule, global users will get EMUI 11 for this tablet in the first quarter of 2021.

Version:

  • Huawei MatePad Pro receiving EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.182 with an update size of 208 MB.
  • Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro getting EMUI 9.1 version 9.1.0.361 with an update size of 3.75GB.
  • Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4 inches grabbing EMUI 9.1 version 9.1.0.346 with an update size 3.6GB.

What’s New for Huawei MatePad Pro:

  • Installs the October 2020 security patch for better system security.
  • Improves system compatibility with certain third-party apps.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates/System
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

REMEMBER:

  1. Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.
