A senior Huawei official comments on the Tesla FSD launch in China. Some reports revealed that the American company is deploying the FSD (Full Self-Driving) software system to its vehicle running in the Chinese automobile market.

Details reveal that Tesla is rolling out self-driving features to some cars in China. These features are coming to vehicles in the form of a minor software update.

Meanwhile, Tesla is making efforts to deploy more FSD capabilities in China. Though, a lack of training data and regulatory hurdles is preventing the company from launching the advanced smart driving software for Chinese consumers.

Amid these hustles, Huawei Smart Automotive Solution Chairman Richard Yu comments on the Tesla FSD launch in China. The official said that he is glad to see the American firm actively promoting the FSD rollout in the Chinese market.

“I am very happy to see that Tesla is actively promoting the deployment of FSD in China! The future of smart driving is not only a competition of technology but also a deep understanding and practice of safety, experience, and user value.”

Richard commented on Tesla following a Weibo blogger’s post on Huawei ADS to compete with Tesla FSD. The post says that everyone is looking forward to the peak showdown between the China-leading ADS and Tesla FSD.

Earlier, Tesla was confirmed to the overseas market. Although the company is bringing its smart car software to China, it will eventually lead to a big competition in the Chinese driving solution segment. Looks like Huawei is seeking another opportunity in this matter. Richard further mentioned:

“We are very willing to work with the world’s top partners to jointly promote the progress and development of China’s smart driving industry! Creating value for users and bringing the ultimate experience is our unchanging original intention and pursuit!”

Huawei senior executive believes that many of its HarmonyOS-powered cars are leading over Tesla models in China. One of the examples is the Luxeed R7 SUV.

ADS solutions are also considered the best driving solutions in China. How Tesla FSD will make its way in the Chinese automobile market would be interesting to see.
