Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 108MP camera system failed to beat Huawei P40 Pro

Huawei P40 Pro DXOMARK review have established the smartphone on the top spot with 128 points followed by the Honor 30 Pro+ with 126 points in the second place.

However, we thought the latest flagship from Samsung – Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, will give a head to head competition to the P40 Pro but it landed on the sixth place with 122 points on DXOMARK alongside Honor V30 Pro.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra uses a 108MP resolution main camera, made by its ISOCELL and measuring 1/1.33-inches. The 50MP Ultra Vision camera of P40 Pro is Huawei’s largest CMOS sensor to date, measuring 1/1.28 inches diagonally, compared to 1/1.7 inch type camera in P30 pro.

Samsung did use a high-resolution camera but it’s not well optimized such as P40 Pro its large camera pixel. The RYYB color matrix used in Huawei flagship lenses captures more light compared to any other smartphone camera in the market and results in brighter images even in low light conditions.

The 100X space zoom counts as one of the unique features of the S20 Ultra, which can expand up to 4X optical. However, the P40 Pro supports the 10X real optical zoom in P40 Pro. In the long-range shots, Huawei P40 Pro captures detailed crop images than the less detailed photos in S20 Ultra.
