Samsung could launch tri-fold in July to counter Huawei Mate XT’s global pressure
Samsung may launch its first tri-fold in July to reduce the Huawei Mate XT global launch pressure to some extent. After a long wait, the South Korean firm seems ready to showcase its triple-foldable creation to consumers in the second half of 2025.
Huawei has shocked its global rivals with the launch of Mate XT worldwide. The device was expected to be confirmed on its home turf. But the Chinese tech giant seemingly aims to break off Samsung’s monopoly in the global foldable market.
In an effort to lessen the Huawei Mate XT global pressure, Samsung is now working to unveil its tri-fold in July this year. The aim is to counterattack the Chinese competitor and win back the original position in the global foldable phone market.
ETNews reports that Samsung could begin collecting its tri-fold components in April 2025. Meanwhile, the company’s first tri-fold model could launch along with its yearly foldable siblings: Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.
As per previous revelations, Samsung’s tri-fold will differ from the Huawei Mate XT champion. It will fold twice inwards and may have a G-type form factor.
The device may further use screens ranging from 6.49-inch to 9.96-inch in size. Samsung may sell the Mate XT’s competitor in limited quantities, say 200,000 units.
Huawei has been uplifting the bar of innovation for its rivals. But with Mate XT, the company has opened a new battle for Samsung and Apple. It would be worth seeing if Samsung’s tri-fold phone will be able to combat the Mate XT champ.
