Rumor says Xiaomi 15 Ultra global units have to wait for HyperOS 2.1

Xiaomi 15 Ultra will land on the global market on March 2, and ahead of that, a rumor says that the device may not come with HyperOS 2.1 out of the box. It may run on the Android 15-based 2.0 software upgrade with certain new changes.

As noted by XiaomiTime, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra global units may have to wait for the HyperOS 2.1 version. It may debut in the overseas markets with HyperOS 2.0.

The source reveals that Xiaomi is still readying the 2.1 version for its global users. While the company has started rolling out the build worldwide, it isn’t available on a broader spectrum. This seems a reason behind the software switch for the flagship.

Inputs further state that Xiaomi 15 Ultra will launch in the Chinese market with HyperOS 2.1, whereas it will feature HyperOS 2.0 globally. Thus, the worldwide Xiaomi 15 Ultra users may have to wait for the HyperOS 2.1 update rollout.

HyperOS 2.1 has started reaching global devices. Around 5-10 models have received the latest version. But, there are still many devices that need a major upgrade.

Xiaomi hasn’t unveiled any official roadmap for the HyperOS 2.1 rollout. It seems the company may announce the new version globally at the Xiaomi 15 Ultra event.

HyperOS 2.2 Preparations

The Chinese phone maker is preparing the HyperOS 2.2 software version. It has begun testing the build internally for a few flagship models. However, its testing for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has not started yet. That’s another hint the device will rely upon the currently available version instead of launching with a new one.
