Rumor says Huawei Pura 80 to sport ultrasonic fingerprint scanner

Huawei Pura 80 series could launch with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. A new input hints the company will finally use an advanced unlocking method for its flagship phones. It seems the company will add a ”self-made” twist to this component.
FixedFocus recently noted that certain sample display panels are compatible with an advanced fingerprint sensor. Another tipster stated that Huawei will likely use the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for the upcoming Pura 80 lineup.
The tipster further mentioned the ‘self-developed’ term. Perhaps, the Chinese OEM will adopt its patented self-made ultrasonic fingerprint for its next flagship.
Ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are far more advanced and secure than optical ones. Instead of a 2D image, the ultrasonic technology forms a 3D image of your fingerprint tracing all ridges and valleys for a precise and safer unlocking experience.
Even though optical fingerprint sensors are easy to understand, they often pose a threat to privacy. These sensors are easily befooled and may risk your device’s security.
On the other hand, the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner uses sound waves to read your finger’s impression. These waves outline every minute detail of the fingerprint including small pores. It works even when your fingers are dirty or wet.
