Huawei P40 series officially unveiled on March 26 and the company has partnered with Qwant, a European search engine, to provide a new search experience on the Huawei P40 series.

Huawei and Qwant have partnered for the Qwant search engine on the P40 series in Europe. This integration will be introduced at a European scale in markets such as France, Germany, and Italy.

In France, Qwant will also be the default search engine of Huawei Browser, the mobile browser integrated into the Huawei P40.

Qwant is designed and developed in France, and the first European search engine to have its own web indexing technology.

Unlike any other search engine, Qwant does not install any cookies on the user’s browser does not try to find out who he is or what he does, and does not keep the history if requested by the user.

Qwant has an audience of almost 5 million visitors per month, with 20+% audience growth compared to last year including 1.9 million visitors on smartphones.

“With such a level of requirement in terms of data security on the new Huawei P40 series, it was important that we can ensure the same level of security to our customers when it comes to the internet search engine using data. Qwant is the best partner we can join forces with in terms of privacy first search engine” states Alex Huang, Country Manager, Huawei CBG France.

“Huawei is a global brand and a very popular top-class technology company. Therefore it is for Qwant a very important and commercially structuring general public partnership. By being chosen as the search engine for the Huawei P40 smartphones, we are today at Qwant, proud and happy to share with the greatest number of European consumers, our unique search engine which does not collect your personal data and respects your privacy.” Jean-Claude Ghinozzi, CEO of Qwant.
