Huawei launched its latest flagships, the P50 series phones on July 29 with a bunch of flagship-grade features. The major highlight of these smartphones includes their high-end camera capabilities. Even the P50 Pro has ranked on top by DXOMARK for its camera performance.

After getting all the high-end features, the P50 models are still left behind in the smartphone market due to the lack of the one most demanded feature – 5G. As usual, the U.S. sanctions became a hurdle for Huawei for not having 5G access in its latest flagship.

Huawei P50 series is greatly being appreciated by the consumers but the lack of 5G is currently a major concern for some people. On the other hand, people are looking for 5G Huawei smartphones instead of going for 4G P50. Therefore, the demand for old Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 30 series 5G variants is continuously increasing.

This rise in demand leads to further increase in their pricing, reports the second-hand market platforms and several digital bloggers.

Why do Huawei phones lack 5G support?

This is the most asked question by Huawei users, why do its latest flagship lack 5G connectivity? Huawei’s Consumer Business CEO, Yu Changdong said that its new flagships lack 5G because of the US sanction.

Moving on, the actual reason for not providing 5G support is due to the lack of 5G core components of the 5G radio frequency chip. The United States occupies both Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) and Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW), which plays a vital role in 5G. Read more.
