The UK’s security chiefs have granted permission to Prime Minister Boris John to allow Huawei to build 5G networks across the country despite the US pressure, says a report.

Earlier this year, UK’s former Prime Minister, Theresa May has allowed Huawei to take part in non-core parts of the 5G infrastructure development but still not taken the final call on this matter.

According to TheMail, a senior security source from the UK told that the balance between national and economic benefits to the UK is something we are confident we can manage.

For the next step, Boris is due to take permission from his national security council in the third week of January to make a decision on whether Huawei can supply equipment for a 5G upgrade.

However, major 5G mobile networks in the UK including Three, Vodafone, EE, and others are already using Huawei’s 5G gear and started services across the country.

Huawei is under the tight scrutiny of the US administration, which accuses Huawei of security espionage through network equipment and asking the UK to not allow Huawei in the 5G network otherwise it may have to give up secret intelligence received from five eyes group.

Recently, US national security adviser Robert O’Brien warned the UK about allowing Huawei into the 5G network saying the company would steal wholesale of state secretes, these allegations are denied by Huawei saying its equipment is safe to use.
