OnePlus is sending a new software update for the OnePlus 8 series smartphone that prioritizes the installation of the February 2022 security patch. Besides this, the company has just dispatched the first Android 12 based OxygenOS 12 open beta update for OnePlus 8 users.

According to OnePlus Forum, the Android 12 based OxygenOS 12 open beta activity is live for OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T users in India and global variants. So, we suggest you must experience the feature rolling with the first beta build of OxygenOS 12.

The February 2022 security update for the OnePlus 8 series comes with OxygenOS 11 version 11.0.11.11. The changelog reveals that apart from security patches, it doesn’t include any other new features and bug fixes. You can check more information related software version below.

Android 12 based OxygenOS 12 features:

Android 12 beta for OnePlus 8 devices comes with new features that include optimizations for the system, three options for dark mode, a feature for Shelf, improvements for Work-Life balance feature and gallery can switch between different layout to allow to get a better user experience across different types of screen sizes.

  • Tap on System
  • Tap on System Updates
  • Check for updates
  • Download and Install it

Important Points:

Ahead of proceeding with the update, it is suggested you make a backup of important data to prevent data loss in any situation. Although the update doesn’t erase your data. Use a stable data connection for fast download and make sure that your phone must be charged at least 30% or above as well as have sufficient storage.
