October 2020 security update is rolling out for Honor 20, 20 Pro and V20

Honor has begun releasing the new software update for Honor 20, 20 Pro, and V20 users. This update brings a security patch released in October 2020 that enhances the system security and provides a better user experience.

Last week, Honor has started recruiting some more devices for Magic UI 4 beta testing. The list of the device includes Honor 20, 20 Pro, V20, and Magic 2. After the completion of the recruitment process, the company will soon release its Magic UI 4 beta version for respective devices.

Upgraded Version:

Honor 20, 20 Pro and V20 grabbing Magic UI 3.1 version 10.1.0.170 upgraded from 10.1.0.168

What’s New:

  • Installs October 2020 security patch that improves system security and fixes the different levels of exploits and issues including 21 high-levels and 1 medium level of CVE’s.

Alongside this, Huawei is also working to expand the reach of this EMUI 11 beta testing to more regions as soon as possible. Moving forward, Huawei has also started enrolling Nova 5 Pro, Tablet M6 series for EMUI 11 beta testing. Read more

NOTE:

  1. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  2. The update will not erase any data.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
