November 2020 security update released for Huawei Nova 5 Pro users

Last month, Huawei has opened EMUI 11 beta recruitment for Huawei Nova 5 Pro users along with three models of Tablet M6. In the same month, the company has also released the first EMUI 11 beta version for Nova 5 Pro users that brings the new EMUI 11 features.

Now, Huawei has begun releasing a new software update for Nova 5 Pro users running on EMUI 10.1. This update mainly comes with a November 2020 security update that fixes 3 critical and 15 high-level of CVE’s to provide system security.

Aside from this, Huawei is expanding the reach of EMUI 11 beta testing to the global market by recruiting more devices in more regions. Recently, Huawei opens the recruitment of Huawei P30, P30 Pro, Mate 30 series, and Nova 5T in Europe, the UK, and South East Asia.

Version: Huawei Nova 5 Pro getting the EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.170/171 upgraded from 10.1.0.168/169.

POINTS TO KNOW BEFORE UPDATE:

  1. Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.

HOW TO UPDATE HUAWEI NOVA 5 PRO:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
