Next-gen Honor Magic V Flip could feature Samsung Z Flip-like design

Honor is seemingly preparing two foldable phones: Next-gen Magic V Flip and the V5 book-type that may debut by the end of this month, and one of these can bring a familiar design. A new leak says the company might copy one of its rivals this time.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus reveals that the next-gen Honor Magic V Flip could have a Samsung Z Flip-like design. The Chinese OEM may copy-paste the latest Z-tagged clamshell’s appearance on its upcoming flip-flop model to some extent.

The tipster adds that the new-gen Magic V Flip may use a square-shaped cover screen on the back. It will have a more bold look compared to the previous-gen model and probably bring a delicate texture to the back panel.

Another tipster in the comment section suggested that the upcoming Magic V Flip will use a right-angle frame layout. It refers to a design where the phone’s edges form 90-degree corners, creating a square or rectangle-like shape.

Honor hasn’t announced the launch date for its upcoming foldable phones. But based on the previous release schedules and rumors, the company may unveil the new devices by the end of this month or in early July.

The Chinese OEM garnered a lot of attention with its first vertical foldable, launched last year. It brought a dynamic cover screen on the back with a small camera ring and impressive color schemes.

Apart from the Magic V5, the new-gen V Flip is also expected to bring big upgrades over its predecessor. It would be worth seeing what new changes the company will seed into its upcoming flip-flop smartphone.
