Honor is pushing a new software update for the Honor 90 series in China and it brings a new three-finger slide gesture screenshot feature to help users with a new screen capability.

According to the changelog, the new three-finger swipe screenshot feature lets you choose to set the three-finger swipe to take a screenshot as compared to the traditional option of taking a screenshot on the Honor phone including the physical button.

After the update, you can enable the feature from Settings > Accessibility, Quick Launch, and Gestures. From here select Screenshot. You will find the new feature underneath the options.

Other improvements:

Honor is also pushing new system stability and an October 2023 security patch for Honor smartphones in order to maximize the user experience.

Version detail:

This new update is rolling out for both – Honor 90 and 90 Pro users with MagicOS version 7.1.0.182 but these models need to download the following MagicOS version in order to download the new one.

  • Honor 90 – 7.1.0.106, 107, 116, 127, 137, 152, 158, 163 and 177
  • Honor 90 Pro – 7.1.0.106, 107, 116, 126, 137, 152, 158, 163, and 177

A few important notes for the update are the following:

This update will not delete your personal data but you should get a backup of important files and folders before the installation as an extra security measure.

The update package will be deleted automatically once the software is installed. Make sure you have enough internal storage in the phone to keep the downloaded package size.

The new three-finger gesture screenshot feature and other improvements for the Honor 90 series come in batches and may take some time to reach all of the users.
